What are the Common Core State Standards?

CCSS are K–12 standards in Mathematics and English Language Arts adopted by the majority of US states. They define grade-level expectations for what students should know and be able to do. For high school math, CCSS organizes content by domain: Algebra, Functions, Geometry, Statistics and Probability, and Number and Quantity.
