AI Content Disclosure
Knobee AI uses artificial intelligence to create personalised study materials. This page explains exactly how that works, which AI technologies power the platform, and what we do to make the content as accurate and useful as possible.
1. What Content is AI-Generated
The following content on Knobee AI is created by artificial intelligence:
- Flashcard questions and answers
- Multiple-choice quiz questions and distractors
- Concept explanations and definitions
- Study summaries extracted from uploaded documents
- Diagram descriptions and visual learning aids
- Adaptive feedback and hints during study sessions
2. AI Technology We Use
Knobee AI is powered by a mix of frontier large language models and AI technologies from leading providers, selected for their accuracy, reasoning depth, and educational calibration. We use state-of-the-art large language models for quality-sensitive flashcard and quiz generation, faster models for content moderation and validation, and embedding models for semantic similarity and search.
3. Our Quality Engineering Measures
We apply a layered quality pipeline to every piece of AI-generated content:
- Subject-specific prompt engineering — tailored prompts for each subject and grade level enforce correct notation, precise terminology, and factual grounding.
- Multi-pass content validation — automated checks verify that MCQs have exactly one correct answer, options are distinct, and explanations are internally consistent.
- Geometry & diagram critic — a dedicated critic model reviews all geometry-related flashcards against mathematical rules to catch STEM-specific errors.
- KaTeX math rendering — mathematical expressions are typeset with KaTeX so equations appear with correct notation and are visually unambiguous.
- Content safety filtering — built-in safety layers and subject-appropriate filters ensure all output is suitable for a middle school educational environment.
4. Known AI Limitations
Despite our quality measures, AI-generated content can occasionally contain factual errors (especially for very recent events), produce simplified explanations that omit nuance, generate content that doesn't match your specific school's curriculum version, or misinterpret ambiguous uploaded documents. We continuously update our models, prompts, and validation pipelines as AI technology advances.
5. How Your Uploaded Content is Processed
When you upload study materials, your document is parsed, sanitised, sent to our frontier model providers' APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) for analysis, passed through our multi-pass validation pipeline, and stored in your account. Our frontier model providers do not use data submitted via the API to train their models by default, in accordance with their respective API data usage policies.
6. Reporting Content Issues
If you encounter AI-generated content that appears inaccurate, inappropriate, or confusing, email us at support@knobee.ai with a description of the issue, the subject, and what you believe the correct answer is. Your feedback directly informs our quality improvement work.
